Practice
Franz advises clients across all areas of intellectual property law, with a particular focus on patent law. He drafts patent applications and files them with the German Patent and Trade Mark Office and the European Patent Office for grant. He also represents his clients in opposition proceedings and before the Federal Patent Court; furthermore, he is admitted as a representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC). Another focus of his work is complex patent analyses and handling patent infringement cases.
As a patent attorney, Franz loves to build arguments, debate with the other party and ultimately convince them of his own idea. He enjoys winning, and this is a major driving force for the qualified mechanical engineer. He experiences small victories time and again, whether through the successful filing of a patent or following a successful strategy in patent infringement proceedings.
Franz’s technical expertise covers general mechanical and equipment engineering, vehicle engineering and the automotive industry, manufacturing engineering, drive technology, power and industrial machinery, material handling technology, medical technology, semiconductor technology, and battery technology.
His working languages are German and English.
