As Patent Attorneys working in the legal form of a “Partnerschaftsgesellschaft mit beschränkter Berufshaftung” (PartG mbB) we are obliged by law to maintain a professional liability insurance with a minimum sum insured of EUR 2,500,000 for each insured event. Our professional limited liability insurance meets the statutory requirements pursuant to § 8 (4) of the Partnership Act (Gesetz über Partnerschaftsgesellschaften) and § 45a of the Patent Attorneys Act (Patentanwaltsordnung).
For damages arising from professional malpractice the partnership is only liable with its company assets. The partners are not personally liable with their private assets.
